Biography

Texas-based country-folk singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Wade Matthew crafts deeply personal songs rooted in storytelling, emotional honesty, and acoustic tradition. Born in July 2001 and raised in Clovis, New Mexico in a military family, music became a constant presence early in his life. He began playing bass at the tender age of twelve (12) in a band with his two brothers before expanding into classical piano at 16 and songwriting by seventeen (17), developing a style shaped by the lyrical vulnerability of artists like Ed Sheeran and the narrative intensity of Eminem.

After graduating high school early and enrolling at Texas Tech University at sixteen (16), Wade began performing publicly at eighteen(18) at the legendary Blue Light Live in Lubbock, Texas. He quickly expanded to stages across Amarillo, Austin, and Fort Worth, performing solo acoustic sets at open mics, coffeehouses, private events, and corporate venues while steadily building his presence as a live performer.

Releasing his debut full-length album Far Fetched Dreams, Wade Matthew introduced a sound grounded in country and folk songwriting traditions, intimate, reflective, and unafraid to explore heartbreak, longing, and personal growth. His music often examines how loss and struggle shape resilience, offering listeners songs that feel both deeply personal and universally relatable.

With a focus on raw songwriting and honest performance, Wade Matthew continues to write and perform music that invites listeners into life’s quieter, more reflective moments, where sadness, hope, and meaning often meet.
